Hundreds of people of all ages descend on this beautiful beach of Chapel Porth to compete in this event. No wetsuits are allowed and 1920s style swimsuits are recommended, this event is true family fun.
It was first started six years ago at Chapel Porth by friends Martyn Ward and Chris Ryan as a memorial to the late Aurthur Traveller, a londoner who holidayed with his wooden board at Chapel Porth every year. In the all comers spirit of the sport, this a World Championships everyone can enter. There are two age groups - under 60 and over 60, and alongside the serious competition for the World title there are also more light hearted prizes in best antique board, most stylish, best trick, best swimsuit and spirit of bellyboarding.
